Therefore thus says the LORD: “If you return, Then I will bring you back

Therefore thus says the LORD: “If you return, Then I will bring you back; You shall stand before Me; If you take out the precious from the vile, You shall be as My mouth. Let them return to you, But you must not return to them.

Jeremiah 15:19

1O Lord, You are my God.

I will exalt You,

I will praise Your name,

For You have done wonderful things;

Your counsels of old are faithfulness and truth.

2For You have made a city a ruin,

A fortified city a ruin,

A palace of foreigners to be a city no more;

It will never be rebuilt.

3Therefore the strong people will glorify You;

The city of the [a]terrible nations will fear You.

4For You have been a strength to the poor,

A strength to the needy in his distress,

A refuge from the storm,

A shade from the heat;

For the blast of the terrible ones is as a storm against the wall.

5You will reduce the noise of aliens,

As heat in a dry place;

As heat in the shadow of a cloud,

The song of the terrible ones will be [b]diminished.

6And in this mountain

The Lord of hosts will make for all people

A feast of [c]choice pieces,

A feast of [d]wines on the lees,

Of fat things full of marrow,

Of well-refined wines on the lees.

7And He will destroy on this mountain

The surface of the covering cast over all people,

And the veil that is spread over all nations.

8He will swallow up death forever,

And the Lord God will wipe away tears from all faces;

The rebuke of His people

He will take away from all the earth;

For the Lord has spoken.

9And it will be said in that day:

“Behold, this is our God;

We have waited for Him, and He will save us.

This is the Lord;

We have waited for Him;

We will be glad and rejoice in His salvation.”

10For on this mountain the hand of the Lord will rest,

And Moab shall be trampled down under Him,

As straw is trampled down for the refuse heap.

11And He will spread out His hands in their midst

As a swimmer reaches out to swim,

And He will bring down their pride

Together with the trickery of their hands.

12The fortress of the high fort of your walls

He will bring down, lay low,

And bring to the ground, down to the dust.

Isaiah 25

So return in the Jeremiah scripture is translated as repent in some other translations and I have tasted the mercy of God in returning and seeing Him bring be back to Himself. It is a gradual process but to God be the glory that He is gracious, forgiving and rich in mercy. Now I'm getting to know more of Him and the importance of belonging to His family the church, I have never fully understood the role of the church, but now the gathering of the set apart ones the assembling of the called makes way more sense. A single brick can in no way see the building by itself but joined to all the other parts of the house in communion one brick can hear from all the rest of the house being built information about the builder and owner of the house and of the greatness of the house being built. - EMH

19Now, therefore, you are no longer strangers and foreigners, but fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God, 20having been built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ Himself being the chief cornerstone, 21in whom the whole building, being fitted together, grows into a holy temple in the Lord, 22in whom you also are being built together for a dwelling place of God in the Spirit.

Ephesians 2:19-22

4For every house is built by someone, but He who built all things is God. 5And Moses indeed was faithful in all His house as a servant, for a testimony of those things which would be spoken afterward, 6but Christ as a Son over His own house, whose house we are if we hold fast the confidence and the rejoicing of the hope [a]firm to the end.

Hebrews 3:4-6
